Villages

Places to Visit

Lac St Croix – The largest of the Verdon lakes and man made in 1975. Here you will find boating, bathing, windsurfing and fishing.

Gorges du Verdon – The French Grand Canyon 21 kms in length and up to 700 metres deep. A drive around the canyon is around 100 kms and will take the best part of a day, with the obligatory stops for lunch of course!

Abbey de la Thoronet – A Cistercian Abbey built between 1160 and 1190 is one of the purest examples of Roman architecture in Provence.

Golf

There are numerous courses in the region. Our recommendation is St Endreol www.st-endreol.com 18 holes, great restaurant and a spa for those who don’t want to play.

Vineyards and Domaines

These are too numerous to mention but some of our favourites include Domaine de St Jean (Villecroze), Chateau de Berne (Lorgues) and Chateau St Roseleine (Les Arcs)

You are only an hour away from the beaches and bright lights of the French Riviera. St Tropez, Cannes and Nice or even Monaco and over the border into Italy.
